Ed Landis' background in financial services began with the degree he earned in Business Administration from Michigan State University in 1966. After graduation, Ed joined the accounting firm of Jack Landis & Co, a well-respected public accounting firm founded by Ed's father in 1945. Ed eventually became a partner, and then decided to expand his career beyond tax into financial planning and investment advice.

A firm believer in the value of ongoing, career related education, in 1989 Ed successfully completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional Education Program sponsored by the College for Financial Planning. He has also successfully completed the Certified Retirement Financial Advisor (CRFA™) Course and the Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant Course (ChFEBC™).

As a financial consultant, Ed uses his accounting and tax background extensively to help people pursue financial security.  Ed uses a planning process that encompasses  the accumulation of wealth, wealth retention and, eventually, tax efficient asset distribution.

Recently, Ed has attended a number of intensive seminars on IRA and retirement plan distribution planning presented by Ed Slott, a nationally acclaimed  expert, who has been seen nationwide on many Public Television networks. Additionally, Ed has qualified and been accepted as a member of Ed Slott’s Elite IRA Advisor Group™. Ed has a strong specialty in retirement planning for clients both in the public and not-for-profit sectors.

Ed lives in Annapolis with his wife Susan. He enjoys spending his free time with granddaughter Stevie, 8 and grandson Avery, 5.
